Introduction
Starmind is a SAS software company headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland. Their software specializes in creating customized knowledge networks for large organizations. These networks connect people with the information they need through question answer platforms powered by AI.
The Starmind board identified a compelling use case and our client SwissRe got on board - they had the need to post jobs and "gigs" internally. Thus, the Expansion Squad was created. In the initial phase, we delved into the gig economy concept and conducted a series of user interviews to uncover user requirements.

We continued by benchmarking, crafting detailed user journeys, and engaging in extensive team discussions to strategize the development of our MVP. Our initial iterations were publicly shared with our collaborative partners, including Swiss Re, who played a pivotal role as our project's trailblazers.

List flow
In our MVP, we enabled users to browse through opportunities posted by others. Leveraging the profile information of our users, we presented a percentage match to enhance relevance. Subsequently, we refined this approach to display matches of 60% or higher, to motivate increased interaction. Through user testing, we fine-tuned the platform, incorporating valuable features like the ability to filter Best Matches, view the most recent postings, categorize opportunities, and sort them by date. To ensure seamless user experience, a search functionality was integrated into the top panel, accessible at any time.

In response to client preferences for in-office work, we prominently highlighted location as a key piece of information. As part of our prototype development, we tried different ways of positioning of the date element and in the end opted for a more streamlined approach to enhance user clarity. This iterative process, driven by both user insights and our commitment to addressing client needs, culminated in a prototype that effectively connects users with relevant opportunities in a user-friendly manner.

Profile
Presenting the profile page, a pivotal component of our project. Leveraging the knowledge from the main platform, we could already add "Known Experience" to build unique profiles. Unlike the main platform, we entrusted users to provide us with insights into their expertise and aspirations. This strategic input aids us in tailoring gig recommendations while giving the profile owner a sense of control over their engagement. As a bonus it allows project leaders to understand the persons' skills and interests when they are looking for project collaborators.

We placed emphasis on considering the users' interests, in response to user needs - this information could pave the way for new learning experiences and potentially open doors to fresh internal opportunities.

Opportunity Creation
Here are selected parts from the"opportunity" creation flow. All form fields are verified required by stakeholders. The opportunity creator can add in required skills, as well as see suggested skills to toggle their minds. Additionally, users have the capability to save an opportunity to publish it at a later time. Moving ahead we continued to test and iterate on all designs.
